The Public Works Director of the City of Louisville serves as:
    
     Public Works Director
     Landfill Manager
 
The Director coordinates with state and federal agencies to keep the city in compliance with all regulations; reviews and approves permits for utility construction on city right-of-ways; prepares preliminary estimates for funding applications; coordinates with consultants and contractors on capital improvement projects; prepares plans and specifications and inspects construction on city improvements; and assists other city departments when needed.
