The City owns and maintains four cemeteries: Memorial Park Cemetery, Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Louisville Masonic Cemetery, and the Old Baptist Cemetery. The City Clerk’s Office issues cemetery permits and sells cemetery plots and cemetery markers as well.

PRICE LIST
Due to the new ordinance in place effective January 1, 2014, new policies and price changes will take effect. After 1/1/14, the City of Louisville will no longer sell markers but will continue to provide components for existing markers such as a scroll or name insert.

Price List and Info - Effective January 1, 2014 for Burial Fees
In Memorial Park and Memorial Gardens Cemetery Cost of plot: $150
Deed Fee: $ 25
Perpetual Maintenance Fee:* $300
Total Cost for lot $475 ( if pre-purchased)
Permit for Open/Close Grave: $375
Deposit on Marker** $100
Total Cost: $950
* For previously purchased lots (prior to Jan 1, 2014), the perpetual maintenance fee is payable upon time of internment. For lots purchased after January 1, 2014, this fee is payable at time of purchase.
** The City of Louisville will no longer sell markers after January 1, 2014. The Ordinance governing cemeteries owned by the City of Louisville states that only bronze markers can be placed on the graves of certain sections of the cemetery. The $100 deposit on marker is due at time of death but is refundable if a marker is purchased within one year of death. If a marker is not purchased within a year, the City will place a 6"x6" marker. See the city ordinance for details.
For those who already have a marker, these components are still available:
A scroll has the name and death date for the companion marker. The cost of a scroll is $250.00
An insert is just the death date plate for the companion marker that already has both persons' name and birth date attached to the marker. The cost of one insert is $150.00
A VETERAN'S MARKER is ordered at no cost by the Funeral Homes, and is installed by the City of Louisville at no charge, but the perpetual maintenance fee of $300.00 should be paid to the City of Louisville at the time of death if it was not previously paid. The Veteran's marker will be installed at the head of the grave unless you tell us you want another marker for the head marker.
ANY MARKER MUST MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE CEMETERY ORDINANCE AND INSTALLATION MUST BE SUPERVISED BY THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE. ALL BRONZE MARKERS SHALL BE INSTALLED BY THE CITY.
