PERMIT FEES
Sec. 2.2 Fees(a) 1. Base fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) 2. Base fee of fifty dollars ($50.00) if work is commenced prior to obtaining permit. (b) Permit Fees= Base Fee + Permit Fee 1. Building valuation up to fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00), five dollars ($5.00) per thousand or fraction thereof; 2, Building valuation of fifty thousand and one dollars ($50,001.00) up to one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00), two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) for the first fifty thousand dollars($50,000.00) and four dollars ($4.00) per each additional thousand or fraction thereof; 3. Building valuation of one hundred thousand and one dollars ($100,001.00) up to five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000.00), four hundred fifty dollars ($450.00) for the first one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) and three dollars ($3.00) per each additional thousand or fraction thereof; 4. Building valuation of five hundred thousand and one dollar ($500,001.00) and up, one thousand six hundred and fifty dollars ( $1,650.00) for the first five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000.00) and two dollars ($2.00) per each additional thousand or fraction thereof. (c) 1. Reinspection fee of twenty five dollars Sec. 5. Penalties5.1 Any person violating any provision of this ordinance shall be fined upon conviction not less than twenty five dollars ($25.00), nor more than one hundred dollars ($100.00) and costs of court for each offense. Each day such violation continues shall constitute a separate offense. |
License Requirements
Mississippi State licensed contractors carrying an approved license from the Mississippi State Board of Contractors shall not be required to obtain a City of Louisville privilege. All other contractors shall obtain a City of Louisville privilege license in order to work within the City. If a contractor does not have a Mississippi state board of Contractors license, but does have an active contractor’s license from another approved municipality then he/she shall obtain a privilege license from the City of Louisville. All new privilege licenses for electrical, plumbing and mechanical contractors without an existing active license from another municipality shall show proof that they have successfully taken and passed an International Code Council examination within the last four years for the type of license they are applying for. All residential, commercial, industrial, educational and places of worship contracted work over fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) shall have a State of Mississippi Board of Contractors license. Except for one and two family dwelling work all others over ten thousand dollars ($10,000) shall provide a Material Purchase Certificate from the Mississippi State Tax Association. |
