Department Description
The City of Louisville Fire Department is a unique combination fire department that consist of career, and volunteer firefighters supplemented with part time personnel. Our career personnel work a 24 hours on and 72 hours off, while our volunteer personnel respond during emergencies in order to provide the most professional emergency services possible in a timely manner. Our first due response area totals 67.2 square miles which includes the City of Louisville, and a portion of Winston County through an inter-local agreement with Winston County. We provide mutual aid to the remaining portions of Winston County not covered in the inter-local agreement at the request of the Volunteer fire departments. The City of Louisville Fire Department strives to provide the best services possible with all of the resources that we have at our disposal to all residents, visitors, and industries of The City of Louisville, and Winston County.
